Battle Ground Academy (BGA) presents the Legends Youth Leagues to host seasonal football, basketball and soccer leagues open to all students in the community.

The BGA Legends Youth Leagues will kick off with a flag football league for K-4 students and a seven-on-seven football league for grades five through eight in March.

“Service to our community is part of BGA’s mission,” said BGA school principal Will Kesler. “We identified a need for these types of youth activities, and given that we have the facilities and grounds to accommodate uses beyond our own teams, we felt this was a way of giving back. . “

Registrations are now open on until March 5 for both football leagues. The leagues are open to groups who wish to register as a team or individually, which will be placed in teams according to the places available.

Legends Youth Leagues is managed by Sam Moran. A BGA alumnus in 2004, Moran is also the school’s director of athletics operations and the coach of the BGA Middle School’s fifth and sixth grade boys basketball teams. He has 12 years of experience in coaching and organizing youth sports.

“Through our BGA Legends Youth Leagues, we are committed to creating a competitive atmosphere where local youth can hone their athletic skills while having fun and exhibiting high standards of character and sportsmanship.” said Fred Eaves, director of athletics for BGA. “Our staff have over 50 years of combined coaching and training experience. We are excited to provide the region’s youth sports community with a new opportunity to engage with each other on and off the court.
