Christian Bowman had a scary night Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa. He had a crash between turns 1 and 2 during the 360 Main Event.
He will be resting for the next few weeks, his Facebook post said.
“We couldn’t be more grateful for [the] The Knoxville Raceway safety team and sprint car safety equipment are doing their job to keep him safe,” the team said in a Facebook post. “Christian was taken to Knoxville ER to be checked out. Her x-rays are good. [with] no broken bones. His CT scan showed signs of [a] concussion and eye hemorrhage. We rushed him to the Wolfe Eye Clinic at 2am to have an eye doctor take a closer look at his eyes.

“He currently has some bleeding behind his eyes and as you can see in the photos, significant swelling. Everything is stable at the moment. We will continue to monitor him as the week progresses.”
At this time, we don’t know when Bowman will return to competition. According to Healthline.com, an eye bleed can heal on its own in seven to 14 days.

“We are so grateful that he was able to walk away from [Saturday’s] accident,” the Facebook post added. “We cannot thank the [racing] community, family and friends enough to [their] thoughts and prayers.
