Street Outlaws No Prep Kings star James “Doc” Love is not having a good start to the 2022 season. In fact, he struggled with his new car.
Love teamed up with “The Viking” in the offseason. He renamed the car “Heavy Metal”.
He has participated in three of the four Invitationals since the start of the partnership on the new car.

“Well, it’s no secret that we’ve been on the wrestling bus with the new Nova lately,” Street Beast Doc said in a Facebook post. “Today we finally exorcised the chassis demons and hit the sweet spot with the suspension. And let me tell you what, this car is fast!!!!! Reached Outlaw Big Tire Finals with Larry Larson For some reason the Lenco didn’t shift into 3rd gear and I hit 10k in exhaustion before I could even react, throwing a rod or two in the process.
“First major fan motor failure for me. This one is going to hurt. Thanks (to) my amazing team for never giving up guys to stay with me until we figure it out. Now back to Pa (Pennsylvania) to pull the engine out and assess the damage and try to get 1 good out of 2 damaged Pics of the carnage to come as soon as I get to Pa and get the engine out Congratulations Ryan on the win event, Larry for the OBT (Outlaw Big Tire) win, Robin for the Maple Grove carryover win, and Daddy Dave for the Great 8 back-to-back wins. But most of all, thank you to all of our amazing fans in the New England for making this the greatest show in drag racing. Love you all.”
