EAST KERN – East Kern County High School Winter Sports have now entered their fourth week of play after the Thanksgiving vacation returns; here are the latest news from the world of basketball and football.

BORON – The Boron Bobcats JV women’s basketball team visited Little Rock on November 15e and came home with a loss by a final score of 24-10; the Bobcats basketball teams then traveled to Excelsior on November 29e; the JV girls (no scores reported), the Varsity girls came home with a huge win by a final score of 61-4 and the Varsity boys came home with a loss by a final score of 53-37: the Varsity Girls played Silver Valley at the Bob D. Lackey Tournament on December 2ndsd and came away with a victory by a final score of 53-16, they then faced Desert where they won by a final score of 51-34; the ‘Cats also performed at Calif. City on December 3e and came away with a victory by a final score of 58-28; the Bobcats then played Lone Pine on December 4e and came away with a victory by a final score of 46-28 as the boys from Varsity traveled to Vasquez on December 2.sd and came home with a loss by a final score of 40-37. The college boys competed in the annual Bob D. Lackey tournament on December 9th.e, tene and 11e (results in our next report) then meet in the desert on December 14e according to MaxPreps. Varsity soccer teams started their regular season by traveling to Silver Valley on November 29e where the Varsity Girls came home with a final loss of 11-1 and the Varsity Boys came home with a loss by a final score of 4-3; both teams traveled to Mojave on December 6e: scores updated in our next report.

CALIF. CITY – The Ravens Varsity basketball team traveled north to Bakersfield to face the Stars on November 15e and came home with a loss by a final score of 75-16, then returned home to host Highland on November 19 where the JV team came away with a loss by a final score of 36-24; the Varsity boys came away with a loss by a final score of 49-33, the JV boys then played against Corcoran on November 20e and lost by a final score of 37-18. The college boys then hosted Antelope Valley on November 23e where they came away with another loss by a final score of 73-33. The Ravens Varsity girls and boys welcomed Trona on November 30e where the boys came away with a victory by a final score of 60-36; congratulations to Ravens # 4 Jai’len Wilson on being named Ravens Player of the Game; the Varsity girls came away with a victory by a final score of 35-31; the college girls traveled to Boron for the Bob D. Lackey tournament on December 3 and came home with a loss by a final score of 58-28, then traveled to Rosamond on December 14.e; college boys welcomed Arvin on December 1st and came away with a defeat by a final score of 55-45; the Ravens then played Hanford West on December 4e and came away with a loss by a final score of 0 then played against Corcoran the same afternoon and lost by a final score of 9-0, they then faced McFarland on December 6.e and Adelanto on December 7 according to MaxPreps: scores in our next report. DESERT – The Scorpions Varsity Girls Basketball Team visited Little Rock on November 23e and came home with a victory by a final score of 38-23; kudos to Scorpion # 9 Destiny Hart on being named Player of the Match, they then faced Silver Valley on December 2 in a neutral tournament and came away with a loss by a final score of 53-48; Congratulations to Scorpion # 2 Keira Gamboa for being named Player of the Match. The girls then faced the Bobcats in the annual Bob D. Lackey tournament on December 3.e and came home with a loss by a final score of 51-34; the boys from Varsity traveled to Arvin on November 15 and came home with a victory by a final score of 55-28, then traveled to Little Rock on November 23.e where they came home with a defeat by a final score of 73-44 and Antelope Valley on November 29e where the JV team came home with a victory by a final score of 46-40 and the Varsity boys came home with a victory by a final score of 70-62; university girls welcome Boron on December 14e and the boys competed in the annual Bob D. MOJAVE – The Mustangs Varsity girls’ basketball team played Silver Valley in a neutral tournament on December 4 (no scores reported) before heading to Frazier Mountain on December 6e. The college boys also visited Frazier Mountain on December 6.e in their first game of the regular season then played in the Bob D. Lackey tournament in Boron on December 9e, 10th and 11th (results in our next report); Mustangs welcome Arvin Bears on December 14e. ROSAMOND – The Runners JV women’s basketball team traveled to the Eastside on November 18 and came home with a loss by a final score of 40-7, then traveled to Palmdale on November 29e (no score reported). The JV boys visited Arvin on November 16e and came home with a loss by a final score of 48-43, they then hosted Desert Christian on November 17th.e and came away with a victory by a final score of 72-22; the boys from JV then went to the Palmdale Aerospace Academy on November 22sd and came home with a loss by a final score of 56-48; the JV team hosted Antelope Valley on December 6the; scores in our next report. TEHACHAPI – The Warriors Varsity women’s basketball team faced Liberty on December 2sd and came away with a final score of 34-33 while the JV boys faced Mira Monte on November 19.e and came home with a victory by a final score of 51-41; they then faced off against Little Rock on November 20e and came home with a victory by a final score of 40-21 then traveled to Corcoran on November 20e and came home with a loss by a final score of 40-21; the college boys also faced off against Mira Monte on November 20e and came away with a defeat by a final score of 54-43; the college boys then hosted the North Stars on December 2 and came away with a loss by a final score of 67-52 while the girls traveled to Bakersfield on December 1.st and came home with a loss by a final score of 34-33; the girls then traveled to Liberty for the BHS tournament on December 2sd and came home with a victory by a final score of 34-33; the two Varsity teams as well as the Varsity women’s football team faced Taft on December 7th.e.
