Cardinal Volleyball tonight! KXRA Radio will have play-by-play, when the Cardinals host Moorhead at Pohlig Court in the Alexandria area high school gymnasium. Last week, D-Mac spoke with Captain Tessa McGrane following the Cardinals’ victory at Saint Cloud Tech. She looks forward to her team facing some tough challenges over the next two weeks leading up to the start of the Section 8AAA tournament. Tessa’s remarks are included in the podcast below.

KXRA’s Cardinal Sports report also includes information related to Section 8AA Football Girls and Boys Football Tournaments are expected to start this week. The Cardinals won the seeds in each section.

KXRA’s play-by-play schedule for the next few days will be pretty busy with Alexandria Cardinal Volleyball tonight (Tuesday), plus Football Girls and Boys Football airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays respectively. The Section 8AA soccer tournament matches on Wednesday and Thursday will be played at the Alexandria Region High School Stadium. KXRA Sporting Director Dave mcclurg will be joined by Jeff James for football cover. The Tuesday volleyball show will have Kelly mesker team up with D-Mac. Then Friday, D-Mac and Tim zupfer will describe the Cardinal Soccer game at Elk River. All events will begin at or shortly after 7pm.

Programming note for later in October: D-Mac will be taking a fall break from October 21-26. Some of that time overlaps the MEA weekend, when classes aren’t held on October 21 and 22. While D-Mac is away from the microphone, the daily Cardinal Sports Reports on KXRA – as well as the Saturday morning Quality Toyota / Quality Cardinal Athlete Profile interview – will be suspended. The regular programs of Cardinal Sports Report will be broadcast on weekdays until Wednesday October 20 inclusive, with a resumption of the program the following Wednesday (October 27).

During the 2021-2022 school year, Cardinal Sports Report programs are broadcast on KXRA (1490 AM, 100.3 FM and 105.7 FM) on weekdays at the following times:
