ROCKINGHAM – The Richmond Senior High School football team have rescheduled two of their three games they missed this week.
Following COVID-19 protocols as a team from last Monday, the Raiders had to postpone their games against opponents from the Sandhills Athletic Conference, Union Pines and Lee County.
The team had to cancel their non-conference game against Butler.
Head coach Chris Larsen said the Raiders will be able to catch up with both SAC games and finish the regular season next week.
The Raiders (4-11, 2-7 SAC) will start their initially scheduled home game against rival Scotland High School (2-14, 0-10 SAC) on Wednesday 20 October.
Union Pines (4-11-2, 3-6 SAC), a team beaten by Richmond earlier this season, will visit the Raiders on Thursday, October 21. The Scotland and Union Pines matches will start at 7 p.m. ET.
Richmond will then close its regular season in Lee County on Saturday, October 23 at 5 p.m.
Baseball Raider Begins Annual Fundraiser
The Richmond Baseball Program has hosted fall practice sessions for the past two weeks, and with it comes its annual Fruit Sale fundraiser.
Head coach Rob Ransom said anyone interested can purchase an assortment of packages online, but that will require additional shipping costs for home delivery.
Those who wish to participate can also purchase from a Raider baseball player. The fundraiser is now open and will continue until November 9.
